Melody Pereira became a member of the Ellsworth Rotary Club shortly after moving to Ellsworth to pursue her career in Funeral Service.
After graduating from Goodwin University (East Hartford, CT) with an associates degree in Funeral Service, Mel was looking to become a part of a new community where she could apply her skills.
Since November of 2019, Mel has been working hard to fulfill her hour requirements for the Maine Apprenticeship Program with Jordan-Fernald Funeral Homes. She is hoping to be a fully licensed funeral director later this year! While working in Ellsworth, Mel has been learning new faces and greatly enjoying this community. Despite challenges with the pandemic, The Rotary Club has been an invaluable source of new friends and knowledge! She has enjoyed volunteering with the Club at the American Red Cross Blood Drive in Ellsworth.
Mel now lives in Orland with her cat, Midnight Milkyway and rescue dog, Lola. In the summer, she loves to explore the area on her motorcycle and work on improving her new home.
