On Tuesday, March 16th at 6 PM, our club had a virtual meeting over the telephone and internet via Zoom.  President Laura Pellerano started the meeting.
Invocation was read by Jo Cooper.
 
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jo Cooper and Tony and Julie Bouchard took attendance.
 
Birthdays: Alicia Johnson on March 21st and Becky Sargent on March 22nd. Happy Birthday!
 
3rd Quarter Happy Dollars: Happy Dollars will go towards the THAW Fund. The Heating And Warmth Fund helps people stay warm and stay safe.  THAW is a community fund created in 2006 to help people afford heat through Downeast Community Partners.
 
The Heating and Warmth (THAW) fund provides emergency heating assistance to people in Hancock and Washington counties. THAW funds step in when all other aid has been exhausted.

If you would like to help once the hospital gets the mass vaccines rolled out please click the link below and sign up with Northern Light. If you do end up volunteering please make sure to send Jodie your hours.

  2. Fundraising Survey: The survey was emailed out to all club members from Clyde Cushing. Please take a moment and fill out online.

  4. Blood Drive: Max Dietshe has sent out an email to sign up for the Blood Drives during the month of March. Please help if you can.
     
  5. Walk for Happy Dollars: April 17th at EHS. $10 to walk. Please sign up with Laura Pellerano.
     
  6. Pizza Night via Zoom: Order your favorite pizza on May 11th. Two gift cards will be given out on May 4th to go buy your pizza!
     
  7. Thank You Cards: Thank You cards were mailed to the club from Kids Peace for the remaining donations from Christmas and Downeast Community Partners for the THAW Fund donations.  
     
Guest Speaker: This week’s guest speaker was Sonya Connelly. Sonya is the Community Outreach Coordinator for Healthy Acadia.
 
Healthy Acadia, in partnership with the city of Ellsworth, hired Sonya as a coordinator to connect local businesses to supportive resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Sonya starting serving as Ellsworth business outreach coordinator last fall as part of the city’s state-funded Keep ME Healthy initiative. Working with city staff, she provides proactive education and support to Ellsworth businesses regarding best COVID-19 public health practices and helps to identify any challenges and resources needed by businesses, including access to personal protective equipment (PPE) for their staff and their patrons.
 
Sonya has extensive experience in the nonprofit world in the area of community development and counseling, as well as the corporate world in human resources and training. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Indiana Wesleyan University and earned her master’s degree in counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary.
