The Rotary Club of Ellsworth received the 2024-2025 Club Excellence Award and the 2024-2025 Polio Award! Congratulations to all!

 

Opening Ceremonies: President JoAnn Rodick called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm with opening remarks and the pledge of allegiance. Our meeting was held at Pat’s Pizza in Ellsworth.

JoAnn thanked Nancy Mayo and Linda Rose for serving as Sergeant at Arms and Ashley Johnson for taking notes and everyone for helping set up and take down the meeting.  

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries: Each week birthdays and anniversaries wishes will be sent from the club via email with an electronic greeting card. Be on the lookout for yours!

Rotary Business/Upcoming events/Volunteer Opportunities: 

Rotary Ladies Night: Once a month at 4:30pm at the Black Moon on Main Street in Ellsworth. An email will be sent out on the date, Please RSVP to JoAnn Rodick.

2026 Rotary Blueberry Pancake Breakfast: Saturday, August 1st! Save the date and please be available to help. Tickets and Flyers are available. Please sign up with Stacie or Peter. 

Pancake Tickets: Who will sell the most pancake breakfast tickets? JoAnn will give a prize for the most tickets sold prior to the breakfast and the best video done for the pancake breakfast; prize might involve homemade chocolate chip cookies!

THE SHAW INSTITUTE IN BLUE HILL ON JULY 21stVERY IMPORTANT…PLEASE RSVP ASAP AND NO LATER THAN THIS FRIDAY, JULY 17 TO LINDA ELLIOTT IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING OUR ROAD TRIP/MEETING AT THE SHAW INSTITUTE IN BLUE HILL ON JULY 21. We will be getting a tour of their facilities including the touch tanks and viewing of marine life. I hear they have a recent addition of seahorses! After the visit to the Shaw Institute, those of you would like to, are invited to go to Blaze in Blue Hill. It is taco Tuesday! Please also RSVP if you will be going to Blaze and we will reserve a table for us. Thank you!

RYLA: Weekend of September 18th at Adventure Bound in Northern Maine. The club is looking for 1 or 2 people to send to RYLA. 18-30 is the age range. 

Happy Dollars–  1st quarter Happy Dollars will be going towards The Bouquet Family. Rotarian Rachel and her husband are both fighting cancer.  Many Rotarians gave happy dollars.

Guest Speakers: Ashley Johnson and Rebecca Toci both shared Vocational Minutes.

 

Silverware Wrapping: Everyone helped with silverware wrapping for the pancake breakfast.

Polio Cups: Reminder to donate to Polio! For every $1 donated, 7 children are vaccinated.
