The August 11th virtual meeting with Guest Speaker April Hartford from MCMH. 
 
 
On Tuesday, August 11th at 6 PM, our club had a virtual meeting over the telephone and internet via Zoom.  President Laura Pellerano started the meeting and passed the podium to Vice President Clyde Cushing. 
 
Invocation was read by Tricia Quirk.
 
The pledge was led by Carl Lusby, Ashley Johnson took notes and Tony and Julie Bouchard took attendance.

All Happy Dollars goes towards Forgotten Felines this quarter. They rescue and rehome Rehabilitate and provide assistance with spay and neutering stray and feral cats. They are 100% funded by donations and funds raised from yard sales and craft fairs.

Rotary Business:
  1. Blood Drive at Elks Lodge: The next Blood Drive is August 25th from 1:00pm-6:00pm. Contact Scott Kimball to volunteer.
  2. Membership Update: JoAnn Brown reported the committee is encouraging members to bring a perspective member to a meeting to be entered into a drawing for a gift card! The Passport Program is up and running again this year. Please fill out the passport by July 31st of 2021 and you will receive a Rotary Vest! 
  3. August and September Meetings will all be Zoom: Rotary Board members met just before this meeting and voted that it was best to have all August and September meetings to be via Zoom due to COVID-19. An email will be sent to the membership soon.
Guest Speaker:  This week’s guest speaker was April Hartford of MCMH. April is an accomplished Food Service/Nutrition Director with responsibilities coordinating kitchen operations, managing employees, solving customer complaints, handling correspondence, maintaining supplies, training new staff, and enforcing hand hygiene standards.
 
April develops and manages budgets while actively seeking ways to eliminate or reduce expenses. She composes meal plans to align with the age, gender and diagnosis. She serves as a nutritional resource to the department and healthcare staff.
 April has volunteered at the Poinsettia Ball and Gala and the MCMH Donor luncheons or supper events. She is involved with the community group Union Square for the past few years as well.
