Opening Ceremonies: President Carl Lusby called the meeting to order at Big Cats Event Center. Bruce Fischer gave the invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Our greeter was Lincoln Ehrlenbach.

Rotary Minute: Jo Cooper spoke about her Rotary moment at the recent Friends In Action auction when Rotarian volunteers came together to help make the event a success.
 
50/50: None tonight. All Happy Dollars this quarter go to Project HOPE an outreach program of the Ellsworth Police Department and Healthy Acadia to fight opioid addiction in our community.
 
Happy Dollars: Several members were happy to welcome our guests this evening. Brian Langley was happy that the club is helping with a Happy Dollars donation to Project Hope. Scott Kimball was happy for a successful Blood Drive with 58 pints donated. Wally Tapley was happy for the Dead River Food Drive.
 
Rotary Business: Movember Mustache Contest has 7 participants this year and the signup board was passed around, as was the Snow Cancellation board with proceeds to benefit the THAW fund at WHCA. Those traveling to Lewiston on Saturday for the Rotary Leadership Institute will gather after tonight’s meeting to plan transportation.
This year we collected $207.05 with our Purple Pinkie Project on Saturday, October 22 at Pat’s Pizza and at the Blood Drive on October 25. Pat’s Pizza also donated $1 for each pizza sold on October 22 totaling $664! This total of $871.05 will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 2 for 1, meaning we raised a total of $2,613.15 to fight polio! Thanks to all who volunteered and all who donated.
 
Program:  President Carl Lusby spoke about “What Is Rotary?” He gave an overview  of the history of the organization and what we do and the ideals we try to follow and promote. He showed a video produced by a Rotary club in Australia that gave a synopsis of Rotary International’s current work throughout the world. After this our guests were able to circulate and see what our club does to promote the Rotary Avenues of Service in our community and through international projects.
 
Door Prizes: Six door prizes were given away with prospective members and the club members who invited them eligible for the drawing. The winners were: Shaws Gift Card – Scott Kimball, Finn’s Gift Card, Mug, and Shirt – Tony Bouchard, Pat’s Pizza Gift Card – Marian Wells, Stanley Subaru Gift Certificate – Dave Wells, Darling’s Mini iPad – Julie Bouchard, and Home Depot Drill Set – Pat Edsall.
