4th Quarter Club Assembly:

Secretary’s Report – Charlene Churchill: Fourth Quarter Attendance so far has consisted of 11 meetings from April 4 through June 13, 2017.   Each week the weekly attendance is posted on Clubrunner. Membership currently consists of 60 members, both active ordinary, active exempt and active associate.
Last week we had attendance of 68.33 % and the week before we had 50.88 % attendance.

The monthly attendance that is submitted to the District consists of only active ordinary members, not active exempt.  We have 46 active ordinary members, (who have a 50% attendance requirement), 7 active ordinary associate members (1 meeting a month required, half dues and no voting rights), 7 active exempt members (no attendance required, full dues and voting rights) and 6 honorary members (no attendance requirements, no dues and no voting rights).

For the months of March 71.26%, for April 66.67% and for May 69.72% were the attendance percentages that were reported to the District.

To receive a perfect attendance certificate at the end of the year, a Rotarian will either not miss any meetings or if he or she does miss a meeting, they need a makeup within the 14-day period before or after the missed meeting.

We have 19 Rotarians, including both active ordinary and active exempt members, who have attendance of 90% or better so far this year and they are:
Tony Bouchard, Charlene Churchill, Julie Clark, Jo Cooper, Clyde Cushing, Lincoln Ehrlenbach, Larry Fernald, Bruce Fischer, Jack Frost, Dan Hurley, Scott Kimball, Jane Langley, Carl Lusby, Andrea Mason, Tracy Shaffer, Cindy Shoppe, David Wells, Marian Wells, and Ray Williams.

Treasurer’s Report: Dan Hurley – See Report below
Foundation Report – Larry Fernald:
This year our club donated $7,058.00 towards EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) Larry encourages all club members to donate $100.00 per year or a total of their choice.

Club Service Report – Peter Farragher:
The committee did an excellent job reaching out to community members to be our Program Speakers on a weekly basis. All the presentations were wonderful! Thank you!

Membership Report – Marian & Dave Wells:
The membership committee includes Julie Clark, Micki Sumpter, Charlene Churchill, Laura Pellerano, Nancy Mayo, Dave and Marian Wells as Co-Chairs.

The Membership Committee held its Membership Night on November 1, 2016 at Big Cats and nine prospective members attended.

Seven new members have been installed to date and David & Pat Edsall will be installed this coming November 7, 2017, at our next Membership Night.
Another application for membership will given out to Allegra Pellerano.

Each new member receives a packet that includes a Rotary Foundation folder, Connect for Good, A New Member Initial Orientation Form, a Membership Passport Form, How to Create a Rotary Account, a Window Decal and a Rotary Business Card. The new member is tasked to complete the new member orientation form with assistance from his/her sponsor, which means the sponsor’s job is not complete until that form is completed.

To date we have received two completed forms from Fred Beyer and Mike Fisher, which entitles them to their “right to work” Rotary T-Shirts.
To date we have received 10 completed Membership Passports, which entitle each to receive a Rotary Polo Shirt or a Rotary Sweatshirt or Hoodie for an additional fee.

Vocational Report – Tracy Shaffer:
The Vocational committee completed all scheduled events including hosting 4 HCTC honors evenings and our Ellsworth senior class student recognition evening during the 2016-17 program year.

Our Hancock County Technical Center (HCTC) honors evenings marked the 10th year that the club has worked with the school to recognize outstanding scholarship and leadership by awarding one student a certificate of distinction per program.  In addition to the nine historical programs, we recognized the new biomedical program this year which is a joint effort between the school and Jackson Labs.

To mark our 10th year, program originator Jack Frost was presented a Rotary mug as well as other Rotarians who helped with the HCTC programs this year. Each presenting teacher was also given a mug along with our guest speakers.

Our Ellsworth Seniors Honors Banquet recognized the top 50 seniors and awarded multiple scholarships as has been done in previous years.
This year, in addition to a certificate, each student was also given a copy of our Four-Way Test creed and a Four-Way Test coin in order to help share our values with the students. Our guest speaker, State Senator Brian Langley, also highlighted the Four-Way Test in his comments to the students as well.

The program year concluded by adding a vocational minute each month to the general meeting agenda. This is an opportunity for a Rotarian to share how their vocation and Rotary experience or reflection of our values blend together to support our ideals of service and integrity.

We will continue to have our Website Sponsorship ads running. These ads help pay for our website annual fees. Ashley will send out a letter to the membership in July for any renewals or new advertisements.

Please let Ashley know if you aren’t receiving club emails. Please check your spam/junk folders. If you are using your work email, it is possible your company’s firewall is blocking ClubRunner Emails. If you wish to change your email address information, please let Ashley know.

Every year we give our website a facelift to go along with the Rotary Theme. We welcome ideas, suggestions to make our website more user friendly.

We continue to send in press releases to our local papers of the community service projects we do around Ellsworth and beyond.
