Rotary Business:
  1. Induction of Jodie Cushing.
  2. Carl, promoting attendance at RLI in November in St. Georges, CA.
  3. Clyde reported that $668 were collected in the last quarter of 2017 for
          Lincoln’s wheelchair project to Dom. Republic and Bolivia.
4. Clyde requested pies for the pie booth at the Blue Hill Fair this Saturday.
5. Marc passed a sign-up for the window panes project at St.Joseph’s Church on Monday, Sept. 17, from 6 - 8pm.
6. Jane spoke of our Rotary gathering at Sarah’s House on Friday, Sept. 7, in lieu of our regular meeting next Tuesday. This will be a social occasion (with credit for attendance) and will include a tour at 5:30pm and appetizers. Afterward, the group will adjourn to the Lucerne Inn for drinks and dinner (individual expense). She passed a sign-up, as the Inn needs to know how many to expect for dining. Jane has already sent a list of items needed by Sarah’s House, so please bring whatever you can. Greatly appreciated.
7. Andrea passed a sign-up for the Saturday, Sept. 8, solicitation in Bar Harbor for our auction in May of 2019. We will meet/park at 9:30am at St. Savior's Church and work until 12:30pm and have lunch together. Car-pooling may be a good idea.
8. Dave passed a sign-up for participation in the Autumn Gold Pancake Breakfast on Sept. 22. Breakfast will be served from 7 - 10:30am at the EEMS and help is needed.
9. Gene spoke about the Early Literacy Program, which is looking for readers.
10.We may have a candidate for RYLY, but contact Tracy if you know of  any interested person.
11.Heidi will have an Interact sign-up table at the high school on Sept. 6 at    6pm, when students will be selecting extracurricular activities.
12.Clyde passed a sign-up for the Freshman BBQ at the high school on Sept. 4 at 10am. Volunteers will wear their Rotary tee-shirts.  
         
Program/Speaker: Jane introduced Josephine Cirrinone from the Eastern Area Agency on Aging, which provides assistance and services for older adults and for people living with disabilities and their caregivers. This organization is based in Bangor but provides services in Penobscot, Piscataquis, Hancock and Washington Counties.
 
Their services include Meals on Wheels, Community Cafes, Caregiver Respite and Support Groups,State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), Living Well, Senior Strength, Tai chi, Money Minders, Transportation services in the Bangor area,, Legal services, Penobscot Valley Senior College, and many more.
