Opening Ceremonies: President Carl Lusby called the meeting to order. The Invocation was given by Larry Fernald and we said the Pledge of Allegiance.

Wedding Anniversaries: Pat and Karen McGuire (9/21/91) and Jo and Don Cooper (9/24/77) are celebrating anniversaries

 

Door Prizes: Irv Hodgkin won a bottle of Malbec. Jo Cooper won sample bottles of oil and balsamic vinegar from Fiore. President Carl won a fancy BBQ mitt and Clyde Cushing won an insulated tote from MCMH and a bottle of kumquat wine.

 

Rotary Minute: Jo Cooper gave the Rotary Minute, with a focus on the clean water projects accomplished through the Rotary Foundation. She reminded us that over 3,000 children die each day due to unsafe water and our works help support clean water and sanitation around the world

 

50/50: The 50/50 drawing of $15 was won by Marion Wells. Marion was happy that she and Dave recently hosted two guests who purchased wheel chairs for our project.

 

Happy Dollars Highlights: Bill Casale said goodbye to us as he heads off to Florida for the winter. Dave Wells was happy that we have reached our $6000 goal for the Wheelchair Foundation. Iris Simon remembered Wilma Sargent. Andea Mason gave a dollar for the nice sign in St. Stephen, NB featuring all the local service organizations. Laurie Fogelman was happy to be out campaigning but at the same time very tired going door to door in a huge territory. Other happy Rotarians were: Jack Frost, Dan Hurley, Jo Cooper, and Carl Lusby


Rotary Business: Clyde Cushing passed around a sign-up sheet for Friends in Action. They will be holding their 7th Annual Auction Dinner at the Moore Center on Saturday, October 15. They are seeking volunteers for check-in/out and auction runners- dinner included! If you would like to help, please contact Clyde or Jo. Ashley Johnson reminded everyone to keep sharing the Autumn Gold Pancake Breakfast post on FB. Assignments/ jobs for this event have gone out. If you need more information please contact Dave Wells. President Carl reminded us that we will be meeting in our new location- Moore Community Center- beginning October 4.

Program: Jo Cooper introduced our speaker, Maria Donahue of Healthy Acadia.
