Opening Ceremonies:  Ashley Johnson called the meeting to order.  The invocation was given by Marian Wells and we said the Pledge of Allegiance.  The greeter was Tracy Shaffer.

Rotary Business: 
  • Carl Lusby gave an auction update:  The packets have gone out to members and we are very excited to be partnering with The Grand.  Everyone is invited to the next Auction meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 4pm at Big Cats Event Center.
  • The Rotary meeting next week will be held at Betty’s Hilltop and it will be a Club Social.
  • The Old Town Club invites Ellsworth members to their March 31st meeting.  It will be held at the Old Town Elks Lodge and they will be doing a review of their India trip.  The cost is $15 for dinner.  Anyone interested in going should contact Ashley Johnson.
  • Our club is collecting non-perishables for the Hancock County Food Drive. Anyone who brings in donations will receive a raffle ticket for each item.  Raffle ticket holders can win Girl Scout cookies.  The winners this week were Pam Cushing, Arlyn Whitelaw and Jane Langley.
  • Jack Frost indicated that there will be a Paul Harris meeting right after tonight’s meeting.  They are still looking for nominations.  There will be another Paul Harris meeting next month.
  • It was reported that our club has exceeded $6,000 raised for Every Rotarian Every Year. There is still time to donate.
  • Annette Higgins encouraged all members who have not yet registered on Rotary.org to please do so as soon as possible.
Program:  Tonight’s program was done by the Rotarians and guests who went on the Belize Wheelchair trip.  Slides and a video were shown and trip attendees shared their personal highlights.  Nine Belize Rotary clubs were visited and a total of 126 wheelchairs were distributed. The Ellsworth Rotary Club raised a total $10,500 for the project and over $1,800 was raised for the “Pack a Bag for Belize” project which was led by Abbey Frost.
