ROTARY BUSINESS:

Pancake Breakfast Update: Please sell or buy your tickets!! Lincoln emailed the work assignments last week.

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award): Every year our club sponsors an individual between the ages of 21-35 in our club or community to “learn the ropes” of leadership. Please let Carl know if you know someone who would like to go to RYLA in September. Our club pays for them to go. Carl has the information and can email anyone who is interested.

Community Service Project: Holt House Clean-up Project on Monday, August 8^th from 8am – 10am in Ellsworth. Please contact Clyde Cushing to help.

Bryan Adams Fundraiser Concert: Our club hosted the VIP tent at the Bryan Adams concert on Thursday, July 28th in Bangor. Julie Clark, Tony & Julie Bouchard, Laura & Gene Pellerano, David Wheaton, Linda Fuller, Carl Lusby, Pam & Jodie Cushing and Becky Sargent attended and we thank them for working at this event and raising over $2,000 for our club!

August 23rd Meeting: We will be having a cookout at the Ellsworth Harbor (Waterfront) Park. Our guest speaker will be President Carl Lusby. He will be speaking to the club about the Rotary Foundation.

Program/Speaker: Our guest speaker this week was Hugh Sadlier, M.Ed, BCCH. Hugh spoke to us about "HYPNOSIS: What It Is – And Isn't!" The presentation even included voluntary audience participation from Rotarians Julie Clark and Scott Kimball!

Hugh provided lots of interesting information about what hypnosis is and isn't and what conditions he has been able to use hypnosis to help.

Hugh began practicing hypnosis on July 1st, 1991 in Blue Hill, as a Certified Hypnotherapist. His primary office is in Portland at the Integrative Health Center of Maine. He also meets with clients in his Blue Hill office. In addition to office sessions, he offers phone hypnosis and Skype hypnosis for people who prefer the convenience and privacy of their own home or are unable to travel to Portland or Blue Hill.

He has worked with people on over 250 different mental, physical, emotional and spiritual issues, ranging from anger, childbirth, fears, insomnia, and pain to relationships, self-confidence, smoking, sports performance, stress, test-taking and weight.
